The people are very friendly and accommodating hoping to meet your every need. At the Ritz Carlton Aruba you can find delicious and healthy food with an array of activities amongst the visual paradise. We opted for relaxing on the beach due to the short nature of our trip. We found a shady area under the trees to unwind from the hectic pace of everyday life.
The smells and sounds lulled us into a heavenly existence. Even the smell in the exquisite lobby at the Ritz Carleton Aruba was unique. As we entered the halls each day, the smell of jasmine and hibiscus surrounded us. The staff explained that this beautiful smell was specifically created for this hotel and pumped through the ventilation to create a relaxing and zen experience!
Salads were the go-to for me on the beach. The 1st afternoon I chose the mixed greens, with their local fish---Mahi Mahi. It was grilled with herbs and spices then gently placed on the greens with strawberries and sliced mango. The combination was so flavorful; it hardly needed the cilantro dressing that was on the side for dipping.
The 2nd day I ventured to try the quinoa salad with nuts, berries, and fresh local shrimp. Each shrimp was juicy, and plump with flavor, it didn’t fail to please. I also tried the grilled chicken on top of greens with beets, radish, and goat cheese. So many choices and each of them kept me full all day without a heavy feeling to weigh me down. They were refreshing and hydrating which are important when in the heat.
A favorite meal was at a local popular spot called Madame Janettes, which had a lively atmosphere and many enticing options. I chose the almond crusted grouper served with vegetables, and a creamy spinach dressing that I asked for on the side. It allowed me to taste the dressing in a small amount without the extra calories from the full amount. It was very light, and flavorful. Fruit was always the best end to our meals, extremely juicy, naturally sweet and of course fresh! Our only splurge was sharing a gelato in town while exploring the amazing nightlife.
